Making Life Wonderful...
Communicating for Mutual Understanding
Workshops by Ellen Shiro, Marriage/Family Therapist, based on the work of Dr. Marshall Rosenberg, author of Nonviolent Communcation (NVC), A Language of Compassion.
Would you like to enhance:
Connection, clarity, and confidence with your partner?
Your skill in attracting relationship(s) that are fulfilling, enduring, and meeting personal needs?
Communication and cooperation with your children?
Effective and easy communications in your workplace?
Learn how to ask for what you want in a way that people are excited to give it to you.
Consistently create the relationships that you have always wanted.
Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is about building bridges of communication. The result is more closeness, more connection, more cooperation, more trust, and less fear. NVC is about making what you want important, and, at the same time, not getting your needs met at the expense of someone else. NVC is about changing language of criticism, judgment, and wrongness. When we blame, shame, and guilt, others generally want to protect themselves. They move away, disconnect, and/or do what we want, but with a resentment that comes back to bite us. NVC teaches us to use observation, understanding, empathetic honesty, and requests in a way that is clear and concise. Using the language and intent of NVC serves to make everyone’s needs matter… without ever giving up on our own.
